Revelation: Things are not as they seem!

One key word describes the leading theme of Revelation: “Conquerors.” The purpose of the book is to comfort the church in its struggle against the forces of evil.

The book should not be understood chronologically. It presents several different visions of the same event. It is apocalyptic literature full of symbolic and metaphorical language contrasted by testimonies that must be taken very literally. And there is difficult language that must be interpreted in light of what is clearly taught elsewhere in scripture. At times it will seem like the devil reigns supremely through the wicked, godless nations of the world. But the revelation is clear, the King of Kings, Lord of Lords reigns supreme.

Things are not as they seem! I trust that we will all come to love the book of Revelation.
