We Believe . . .

There is but one only, the living and true God.
God is Spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in his being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth.
The Scriptures make known what God is, the persons in the Godhead, his decrees, and the execution of his decrees.
There are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one true, eternal God, the same in substance, equal in power and glory; although distinguished by their personal properties.

The Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are the Word of God, the only rule of faith and obedience.
The Scriptures teach what man is to believe concerning God, and what duty God requires of man.
The authority of the Holy Scriptures, for which it ought to be believed, and obeyed, is not dependent on the testimony of any man, or church; but wholly upon God (who is truth itself) the Author thereof: and therefore, it is to be received, because it is the Word of God.
The whole counsel of God concerning all things necessary for His own glory, man’s salvation, faith, and life, is either expressly set down in Scripture, or by good and necessary consequence may be deduced from Scripture: to which nothing at any time is to be changed.

God created man, male and female, with reasonable and immortal souls, endued with knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness, after His own image; having the law of God written in their hearts, and power to fulfill it: and yet under a possibility of transgressing.
Man was created to glorify God and enjoy Him forever by loving Him and keeping His commands.
Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sinned, and by that act fell from the sinless condition in which they were created causing all humanity to be born sinners in rebellion against God, and unable not to sin.

All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23
Sin is the want of conformity to, or the transgression of the law of God.
Sin entered the world when Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s law and as the first parents passed sin and separation from God to all people.
Sin separates us from a relationship with God now and eternally.
Without God’s redeeming grace and mercy man’s sinful condition is eternally hopeless.

For God so loved the world that He gave His only son that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Redeemer of those who confess their sins, repent of their sins, and place their faith in Christ alone for salvation. If any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things are passed away, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17
After that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. Titus 3:4–7
Justification is an act of God’s free grace, wherein he pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in his sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us and received by faith alone.

The Church, which the Lord Jesus Christ has erected in this world for the gathering and perfecting of the saints, is His visible kingdom of grace and is one and the same in all ages.
The members of this visible Church are all those persons in every nation, together with their children, who make profession of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and promise submission to His laws.
This visible unity of the body of Christ, though obscured, is not destroyed by its division into different denominations of professing Christians; but all of these which maintain the Word and Sacraments in their fundamental integrity are to be recognized as true branches of the Church of Jesus Christ.
A particular church consists of a number of professing Christians, with their children, associated together for divine worship and godly living, agreeable to the Scriptures, and submitting to the lawful government of Christ’s kingdom.
The ordinances established by Christ, the Head, in His Church are prayer; singing praises; reading, expounding, and preaching the Word of God; administering the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper; public solemn fasting and thanksgiving; catechizing; making offerings for the relief of the poor and for other pious uses; and exercising discipline; the taking of solemn vows, and the ordination to sacred office.

Worship of God is the purpose for which we are created; worship activities are individual and corporate.
Worship is giving honor to God, in His presence, according to His Word, through Christ, in the power of the Spirit.
Worship is first and foremost about giving glory to God. Worship is not intended to be a forum for entertainment, but a time of focused attention on the God who redeemed us from our sins.
Because worship occurs in God’s presence, we are able to fellowship with Him only through the forgiveness that comes from Christ and the ministry of the Holy Spirit.
Worship is not a time for man’s creativity to run rampant. God has given us directions and principles in His word regarding the proper way to worship Him in spirit and in truth.
It is only through the sacrifice of Christ that we are able to offer worship that is acceptable to God. Because Jesus became a human and “suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous” (1 Pet 3:18), we can draw near to the throne of grace with full confidence that our sins have been forgiven (Heb 4:14-5:10).
Because we are at the same time justified and sinful, our best worship falls short of God’s standard. Even so, we are empowered by the Holy Spirit to offer worship that is not only acceptable to God but also pleases Him.
We seek to embed these truths in every aspect of our corporate worship.
